The Ridge Interactive Museum. Visit a museum that explores and celebrates the history of the Native Americans from Ohio and their ancestors. Newark Earthworks. Built by the prehistoric Hopewell people between 100 AD and 500 AD, these were the largest set of geometric earthen enclosures in the world. It is an architectural wonder of ancient America and was part cathedral, part cemetery, and part astronomical observatory. Midland Theatre. First opened on December 20, 1928, this theater was a plush red velvet film paradise for 50 years until it was closed in 1978. It sat empty and unused for 2 decades until it was finally reopened. The Ohio Canal Greenway. This is a 3.8 mile multi-purpose recreational trail located on the old Penn Central Railroad south of the Village of Hebron. The Blackhand Gorge State Nature Preserve. This four mile long sandstone formation runs through Licking County, OH and the Licking River flows through it.
